This is what happened on Saturday night – actually, technically it was Sunday morning! As we didn’t get out until one in the morning! I had to tattoo until 11, then had an hour drive home, then I had to put my costume on, and help Sharmily with her costume. Boy goodness! It’s so strenuous to go out these days!
And this one… I kind of digressed. I was going to show more of me hanging out with Joe, running into Lou and having Sam stop by for a drink. But that Creative Loafing thing really got to me. My lifestyle HAS really changed since I started tattooing. But it’s kind of been a whirlwind ride since the beginning of my apprenticeship. Other things happened in my life besides tattooing, but I feel like the tattooing WAS a catalyst toward these changes.
I was getting out of a relationship, I was re-adjusting to single life, I was starting a career, I was dealing with chronic fatigue and sickness, I find out I was gluten intolerant which virtually eliminated my fatigue and sickness BUT I had to deal with a drastic diet change, I bought a house but at the same time kept my condo, I had to (by default) buy a new car… OMG! SOOoooOOOooOoooo many things have happened in just a span of my tattoo career (2 1/2 years). And with all of the hardships that come with all the choices I’ve made or the things that’ve happened that was out of my control… I really do feel like I’ve fallen more in love with the passion I’ve pursued and have left behind those superficial things that used to give me instant gratification.
Though I admit, having extra free-time, piano, and writing is not exactly superficial. I DO miss those things. But… one must pay their dues. And I gladly pay them.
